Recruitment and retention
Hive Land faced ongoing challenges with recruitment and retention, having experienced several failed recruitment drives. It was clear that finding and keeping the right people needed a different approach.

Culture and values at the core
The business placed huge importance on building a culture and set of values that would support long-term growth. This meant going beyond hiring — it was about creating the right environment for people to thrive.

The directors needed to ensure they were working to their strengths and aligning with the right departments and responsibilities to help the management team work smarter and faster.

Strategic workshops and scale-up support

We kicked off with strategic workshops to get clear on the challenges and priorities. Hive Land also engaged in Cube Thinking’s Scale-up Programme, providing ongoing structure and guidance.

Culture Design Canvas

We provided a comprehensive culture solution to help the client define and embed values that genuinely reflect the business and its goals — building authenticity from the inside out.

 Using the Culture Design Canvas, we delivered:

  • Clarity on culture foundations through in-depth workshops, one-to-one employee interviews, and a tailored Culture Canvas with clear values, priorities, and strategic recommendations.

  • Support for psychological safety and trust, equipping leaders with practical tools, behaviours, and facilitation techniques to encourage open communication and measurable progress.

  • Embedding culture into the day-to-day via manager coaching and ongoing consultation to ensure culture becomes visible, consistent, and lasting.

 

Leadership alignment tools

To support leadership alignment, we carried out 16 Personalities testing with directors, helping them understand their strengths and align with the right departments and responsibilities.

Peer learning and growth support

To further maintain momentum, Hive’s leadership team began attending Pioneers Breakfast events — focused monthly sessions designed to share ideas, challenge thinking, and support growth.
